President : Morio Kurosaki
Prior to IT-Farm, Mr. Kurosaki was founding CEO of Aisys Corporation. The company has been supporting Silicon Valley start-ups in entering the Japanese market since 1988. He has been supporting all phases of establishing operations from building strategic partnerships between US-startups and Japanese enterprises, to hiring management teams to establish a K.K. ("Kabushiki Kaisha", Japanese incorporated entities). He has incomparable networks in both Japanese IT industries and executives in Silicon Valley. Prior to founding Aisys in 1988, he held various sales and account management positions at Western Digital Japan, Daisy Systems Japan, and Intel Japan.
Board Director : Takeshi Nakabayashi
Before joining ITF, he was a venture capitalist with a venture capital arm of The Development Bank of Japan (New Business Investment Co., Ltd.). Mr. Nakabayashi brings more than seven years of experience investing in start-up and early-growth-stage entrepreneurial firms in IT-industry.
Board Director : Takashi Mukaibayashi
In his 20 years career at the semiconductor business unit of NEC Corporation, Mr. Mukaibayashi has experience in the areas of application engineering, marketing and business strategy for the system LSI. He played key roles in product definition and business strategy in launching several best selling products. During his time in the Silicon Valley from 1991 to 1998, he produced and implemented several strategic alliances and M&A, and incubated start up companies many of which achieved successful exit. Based on well balanced experience and knowledge in engineering, marketing and intellectual property rights, he produces strategic collaboration between portfolio companies and major Japanese companies.
General Partner : Takehiro Shirai
Mr. Shirai is one of the initial members of IT-Farm. He has been vital to the success of portfolios companies in managing their development and customer projects, and has been making critical technology assessments for other IT-Farm investment opportunities. Prior to IT-Farm, he was a general partner at Aisys, where he acted as the technology evangelist for silicon valley startups entering the Japanese market. For six years, he designed microprocessors at Intel, and in 1995 he was one of the two founding members of MetaSoftware-Japan.
Senior Manager : Koichi Nakabayashi
Mr. K. Nakabayashi has over 20 years experience in financial management.
On top of general financial management experience, he has covered the
broad range of financial activities related to significant operational
changes such as IPO preparation, M&A, and curve out at Unisia Jecs,
Konami, Nihon Bisoh, Sigma, Takara Tommy. He especially has deep
experience and track records in financing and finance management system
construction for newly established companies.
Affiliate Partner : Masaaki Sekino
Mr. Sekino joined venture capital arena after the business experience at the UAS branch of Bosch. He has 17 years experience as a venture capitalist at NED (currently Yasuda Enterprise Development Co. Ltd.) and Nippon Venture Capital Co. Ltd. He has wide network with general partners of first tear VCfs such as NEA and Kleiner Perkins and deeply involved in the investment and business development of startup companies in the west coast and in Japan as a pioneer of hands on style venture capitalist in Japan. His signature deals are, Pacific Management (listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange), Aplix (listed on TSE Mothers) and Hibino (listed on JASDAQ)
Affiliate Partner : Akio Kojima
Prior to IT-Farm, Mr. Kojima guided Aplix Corporation to a successful IPO as the board member and VP of Sales. There he closed many high level deals such as the one with Motorola Corporation and a co-development agreement on the i-Mode phones with NTT DoCoMo which included funding from DoCoMo. Prior to that he was Java Soft Senior Sales Manager at Sun Microsystems K.K., where he sold Java licenses to almost all cellular phone vendors in Japan. He also held senior sales positions at Western Digital Japan, Daisy Japan, and Intel Japan. He has over 30 years experience in the electronics industry with a technical background in software development and x86 CPU application engineering.
